Celebrating a Milestone: Billy Hutchinson’s Franchise Renewal with Ableworld Broxburn
We're thrilled to share that Billy Hutchinson, our dedicated Franchise Partner at Ableworld Broxburn, has recently signed his second franchise renewal contract with us! Billy and his business partner, Robert McKenzie, have been with Ableworld since 2019, taking over the Broxburn franchise during a resale. Since then, they've transformed the store into a thriving success, marked by a remarkable growth rate of 29.86% despite the significant challenges of recent years, including Brexit, the COVID-19 pandemic, and changes to government budgets. Their resilience and commitment have allowed the store to continue delivering exceptional service, even during these difficult times.
Before joining Ableworld, Billy and Robert were both service engineers specialising in hospital and care home equipment. They witnessed first-hand the increasing demand for products that help people live more comfortably and independently at home. Eager to enter the mobility sector, they saw the Ableworld Franchise as a unique opportunity to be part of a supportive network with a proven business model. Recognising the advantages of franchising, they decided that Ableworld would offer them a much stronger path to success than going it alone.
Reflecting on their journey with Ableworld, Billy shared: “The support we’ve had right from the beginning has been excellent. Head Office training covered every aspect of setting up and running our business, and we also went out in the field shadowing the engineers, which led to us gaining the required qualifications to carry out stairlift installations and repairs ourselves. Neither of us came from a retail background, so we knew we had a lot to learn. By the time we opened the doors though, we were very confident we would make a huge success of it – and it’s been great! It’s been hard work, but incredibly rewarding from both a business and personal perspective. Knowing that we are building a business that truly makes a positive difference to people’s lives every day is a great feeling.”
